Funeral Services For Mrs. Sledge Tuesday --
Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Sledge, 70, who died July 4, was buried Tuesday at 3 o'clock in the Fall Creek Cemetery, Estes Funeral Home in charge. Rev. Jesse G. Cooke conducted the services with Rev. Capps assisting.
Mrs. Sledge, a native Texas, had been a resident of Hood County about forty-five years. She was married to J. A. Sledge in 1883 and they had twelve children. Of this group, ten survive their mother. Mr. Sledge having died about 13 years ago.
Survivors are two daughters,
Miss Ollie Sledge and Mrs. Louetta Rollins, Fall Creek;
eight sons,
Bob, Cal, Luther, and
Cecil of Fall Creek;
John of Hamlin, George of Fort Worth, Willis of Stamford and Fred of Olney.
The large number of friends in attendance at the funeral was testimony of the esteem in which Mrs. Sledge was held in the community in which she lived the greater part of her life.
