James N. Brewster Sr., 78, of 410 W. Central Ave. died in his residence at 11 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2000, following an extended illness.
Mr. Brewster was born April 2, 1921, in Kellettville to the late Joseph and Lucille Sterling Brewster. He married the former Mary T. Guerrieri on Jan. 22, 1944, in Philadelphia. Mrs. Brewster died on Nov. 5, 1985.
Mr. Brewster was a graduate of Titusville High School. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman stationed in Philadelphia.
He was employed by Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. for 32 years as a sawman in the finishing department. He retired in 1982.
He was a member of St. Titus Church and enjoyed playing bingo. Mr. Brewster was a sports enthusiast.
Survivors include three sons, James N. Brewster Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Cleveland; Carl W. Brewster and his wife, Betty, of Mascoutah, IL; and David Brewster of Titusville; two daughters, Mrs. Craig (Kristine) Schwartz of Pleasantville and Mrs. David (Rita) Eddy of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brewster was preceded in death by two grandchildren; four brothers, John, Robert, Carl and Roe Brewster; and two sisters, Lucille Crawford and Ida Jones.
Friends may call Saturday at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home from 2 to 3 p.m., when a memorial service will be conducted by Fr. John Detisch, pastor of St. Titus Church.
Interment will be in St. Catharine's Cemetery.
