Funeral services will be held Monday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home with Marvin Barnes officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Schalton was born January 21, 1924, in Michigan City, to William and Clara (Pflughaupt) Campbell, both of whom preceded her in death.
On January 31, 1942, in Michigan City, she married Joseph A. Schalton, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1980.
Surviving are daughter Shirley (Tommy) Bryant of LaPorte; and son Thomas Schalton of Beverly, MA; granddaughter Dana (Tony) Walz of Granger, IN; and a sister, Joan (Louis) Timberlake.
She was preceded in death by grandson Dean Bryant; sisters Evelyn Ahrendt and Marion Stark; and brothers Robert and William Campbell.
Mrs. Schalton had been employed with Carson Pirie Scott for 25 years as a sales associate. She was a member of the Carson's Has Beens Club.
