AT SON'S HOME
Mrs. Elizabeth Louise Boakes, 86, passed away on Thursday, April 29, at the home of her son, Bert Boakes, on north Bowery in Gladwin.
Mrs. Boakes was born on October 11, 1861 in Ontario, Canada. She was married to John Boakes, who passed away about nine years ago. Mrs. Boakes was a resident of Gladwin county for the past 55 years.
Surviving are two sons, John and Bert Boakes and one daughter, Mrs. Haddix of Lake Orion.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Gladwin Free Methodist church, with the Rev. Henry Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the Butman cemetery. Pallbearers were Glenn Entrekin, John Seltz, Isaiah Wideman, Jerry Page, Paul Young and Earl Shell. Gladwin County Record dated 5-5/1948
