Wilhelm Litchenwald, aged 77 years, died at his home, 903 Grandview avenue, today of a heart ailment. The son of Kasper and Marie Elizabeth Erbes Lichtenwald, he was born in Doenhof, Russia, on the Volga, on June 24, 1866. He came to this country in 1911 and to Muscatine in 1923.

He married Katherine Elizabeth Bolsz in 1884 in Russia and following her death he married Katherine Margaret Hergert in 1886.

Surviving are three sons, Jacob, William and Henry all of Muscatine; two daughters, Mrs. Mollie Becktell of Fort Collins, Colo., and Mrs. Katie Chrisman of Pawnee, Okla., one brother, Jacob Lichtenwald of Greeley, Colo., 29 grandchildren and 11 great grand-children.

His parents, both wives and six children preceded him in death.

The body is at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral home and will remain there until rites are held Thursday at Zion Lutheran church. The Rev. Julius F. Holm, pastor will be in charge.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
