Mr. Grubb was born on farm northwest of Springfield in Sangamon county.
He had been an employee in the finance department of the post office for the last 40 years and was a member of the First Christian church.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie; a son, W.T. Grubb jr., of Cambridge, Mass.; two daughters, Misses Francine, of Kansas City, Mo.; and Mary Virginia Grubb, of Chicago; three brothers, Rev. Chester B. Grubb, of Bloomington; Loren A. and Charles Walton Grubb, both of Springfield.
Funeral services were held at the Ellinger & Kunz funeral home.
Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
