Mrs. Holmes was a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. She formerly lived in Madison and Macon. Her parents were the late Mack Rankin Pickett and Mae Evans Pickett. She was a member of Vineville Methodist Church in Macon. Her son, Sidney Rankin Homes and her husband, Paul Holmes, Sr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: Paul Holmes, Jr. and Susan Holmes of Monticello; daughter, Karen Lee of Milledgeville; grandchildren: John Holmes and Cammie McCook of Macon, Sam Holmes of Atlanta, Ashley Holmes of Mobile, AL and Rankin Holmes of Missoula, MT; great-grand-children: Paul Holmes, IV and Sims Holmes of Macon, Sam Holmes, Susan Holmes and Cammie Holmes of Atlanta and Tommy McCook and Evans McCook of Macon; sister, Mary Alford of Morehead City, NC.
