MARY ALFORD OBITUARY
MOREHEAD CITY - Mary Pickett Alford, 90, of Morehead City, died Dec. 6, 2012, at Harborview Health Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Frese officiating.
She was co-owner of Alford's Gift Shop, had a radio program "Capsule Comments" on WMBL radio station, and wrote for Carteret County News-Times. She was also an active member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Randall Alford.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon S. Wells of Newport and Jane S. Hunter of Beaufort; sons, Quincy Stimpson of Morehead City and Benjamin Randall "Randy" Alford Jr. of Atlantic Beach; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service.
