Matthew is my 2nd great-grandfather. He was baptized on October 23, 1823 in Rathdrum, County Wicklow. His parents were Michael Toomey and Mary Brennan. He arrived in New Orleans aboard the Millicete on January 2, 1851. Also on-board was his future wife Eleanor Merrigan, who he married in Galena, IL in May, 1862. Not sure if they knew each other before the trip or not.
