"His body will be cremated under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman. A Memorial service will be held Thursday evening at 5 p.m. in the Tom G. Walker Memorial Chapel with burial in the Coleman City Cemetery.
"He was born April 15, 1940 in Coleman County the son of the late Arthur and Annie Steffey. He worked for the City of Coleman for many years and previously also worked in offshore drilling in Angleton, Texas. He was married to Mary Gober in Coleman in 1962. He served in the National Guard and had lived most of his life in Coleman.
"He is survived by his wife, Mary Steffey of Coleman; 3 daughters, Ann Steffey of Coleman; Mary Lou Gressett of Coleman; Michelle Kirkpatrick of Coleman; a son, Richard Steffey, Jr. of Coleman; a brother, Jerry Steffey of Coleman; 2 sisters, Thelma Barkemeyer of Coleman; and Ruby Sumerour of Coleman; 9 grandchildren also survive.
"He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
"Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman."
