Herald Coaster, March 14, 1963:

Mrs. Charleen Moore Dawes, 21, died of pneumonia in a Houston hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of Don W. Dawes, a student at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dawes were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church of Rosenberg. Rev. Charlie W. Lamb and Rev. Nolan Vance officiated.

Mr. and Mrs. Dawes had been living in Houston since their marriage on Dec. 22, 1962. A graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School, Mrs. Dawes was employed as a teller with the Rosenberg State Bank until January. A member of the Rainbow Girls of Rosenberg, Mrs. Dawes had been Worthy Advisor.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell L. Moore of Rosenberg; a sister, Mrs. B. Larry Johnson of Houston; a brother, James R. Moore of Fort Riley, Kansas; several aunts and uncles, including Buell Moore of Houston.

Pallbearers were Frankie Dedek, Mike Krolczyk, E.L. Ebel, H.O. Hartfiel, Ed Babovec, Gus Hrncir, C.J. Overgoner and S.O. Morrow

Burial was in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. Services were under the direction of Garmany and Company Funeral Directors.
