Elmore Albert Rosene was born in the family residence north of Scandia, Kansas on February 11, 1886. During early childhood he suffered a severe spinal affliction. On Sunday evening, December 24, 1933, Christmas Eve, he was suddenly taken ill and death descended quickly to claim him at an age of 47 years, 10 months and 13 days.He leaves to mourn his departure his sisters, Mrs. Julia Johnson of Topeka and Amanda of Scandia and one brother, August of Scandia, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. His mother, Mrs. A. P. Rosene passed away October of this year and the departed deeply mourned the loss of his beloved mother. The grief, caused by her going, contributed to the shortening of his span of life.
May god sustain those that remain and who have now twice in rapid succession lost those dear to their hearts. In losses such as these God alone can adequately comfort.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 27, 1933 from the family home and the Methodist Church with Rev. B. W. Selin officiating. Interment in Riverview Cemetery. Contributor: jln (48112406)
