Peter August Rosene, son of Andrew P. and Wilhelmina Peterson Rosene, was born on August 11, 1880, on his father's homestead north of Scandia. He attended the Pleasant Valley school. August started farming as a boy and was on the farm all of his life. He passed away in the Belleville hospital where he had been ill for many months. His death was on October 24, 1958, at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 13 days. Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister and one brother. Surviving are two sister, Miss Amanda Rosene and Mrs. Julia Johnson of Scandia, cousins and many friends.
Services were conducted at the Scandia Methodist church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, with the Rev. Richard B. Wilke officiating. Burial was at the Riverview cemetery.
