Faye Martin of Bethany, OK, was born on October 4, 1929 and passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at her home in Bethany, OK at the age of 83 years. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Bertha Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Walter Howard and Gene Howard, three sisters, Georgia Bell, Rosie Garrison and Hazel Overall and her beloved pet, Sunny Beau. Faye was a former teen Beauty Queen. On occasion she was mistaken for Jackie Kennedy. In 1988, she was voted Wheeler County, Texas, Extension Homemaker's Club "Woman of the Year." Her daughter's friends called her "Candy" because she was so sweet. Mrs. Martin spent 45 years following her husband through many cities throughout the Southwest, as he pursued his career in the Oil and Gas Industry. She spent the last 21 years living in Bethany, OK and was an active member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. For 67 years, Mr. Martin was devoted to her and took such delight in her beauty, her ability to make a loving home wherever they were, her sense of humor and her wonderful youthful spirit. Funeral services for Faye are scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Terry Toler officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
