OBSEQUIES FOR MRS. S.E. RANDLES HELD SUNDAY
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Baptist Church in Melissa for Mrs. S.E. Randles, who died at her home there Saturday morning at 3:30 o'clock. The pastor, Rev. Truman Skaggs conducted the services, assisted by A.A. Farley of Byers, Texas, son-in-law of the deceased. Burial followed in Pecan Grove cemetery with the Crouch-Moore Funeral Home of this city in charge.
Lillie Matilda Randles, was born April 19, 1894 in Arkansas, the daughter of Marshall Hemphill and Arnetta Glenn. She had resided in this county for many years in the Melissa community. Surviving are her husband and the following children: Mrs. D.O. Gray of Celina; Mrs. A.A. Myrick of McKinney; Mrs. H.P. Nichols, Lorenzo, Texas; Mrs. A.A. Farley, Byers, Texas; Mrs. E.C. McMurray, Tioga; Mrs. S.T. Barnett, Waco; Mrs. Bill Vorthal, Richardson; E.A. Randles of Plano; S.O. Randles of New London; J.M. Randles with the U.S. Forces in Korea; T.J. Randles, Fort Worth; B.J. Randles, Bowie; twenty-five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Three brothers: George Hemphill, McKinney, Oliver Hemphill of Newlin, Texas, and Aub Hemphill of Corpus Christi and two sisters, Mrs. Maud Harrington of Princeton and Mrs. Ira Rose of California also survive.
