By 1848 this family had moved to Searcy County. The area in which they lived became known as the GLENCOE COMMUNITY. The school, community and cemetery was named for them and there was also a Post Office established there for a time.(This community is often confused with the Town of Glencoe located in Fulton County, Arkansas) -- Nettie was born in December of 1842 in Marion County and married Marshall Henry Hemphill in the early 1860s. They became the parents of four sons and five daughters. About 1892-93 this family relocated to Wise County, Texas where Marshall died of Heart Dropsy in 1897.
