Josiah was the son of Josiah Beckett (Bockitt) and Sophia Bee, and probably born in Gloucester Co., NJ, where they resided. He married Rachel Fisler on 14 Nov. 1799. He was a resident of Fries Mill. In 1815, he was co-executor of his father's will. His father-in-law Jacob Fisler released any notes or book debts of Josiah's in his will, 1838 (probated 1841). Josiah was living in Franklin Twp., Gloucester Co., NJ, 1850. He is presumed to have died in Gloucester Co., his residence at the time of death.
