Louis Buckli was born in the Town of Montana, Buffalo County, Wisconsin, to Martin Buchli and Louisa (Florin) Buchli on January 24, 1899. He was raised on a farm in Montana Township. He married his first wife, Helen Brinkman, on January 27, 1918 in Winona, Minnesota. They later moved to Eau Claire where he was a carpenter. Helen preceded him in death on July 1, 1934 after a fatal car accident. He married his second wife, Jeanette Kloss, in Eau Claire on February 24, 1937. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Phyllis Shephard and Joanne Smelser; two sons, Howard and Gaylord; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were handled by Smith Funeral Home in Alton, Illinois.
