Clara was the first born of four known children in her family. Her father was a farmer in Carroll Township which is where she was probably born. Her husband Elmer started his career as a photographer and became a jeweler, with stores first in Duncannon and then Bloomfield.

MRS. CLARA SHATTO LOY

New Bloomfield, Dec. 15 -- Mrs. Clara Shatto Loy, 59, wife of Elmer S. Loy, died yesterday at her home in Main street, New Bloomfield. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. R.E. Sternberger, of Hershey, and a brother, Elmer L. Shatto, of Shermansdale. She was a member of the New Bloomfield Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in the Shermandale Presbyterian Church. The Rev. F.A. Lawson, pastor of the Duncannon Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the White Church Cemetery, Shermansdale.

The body may be viewed tomorrow evening from 7 to 9 o'clock, and on Saturday morning from 9 to 11 o'clock, at the Dugan funeral parlors, 1600 Market street, Harrisburg.
