Final Rites at Bishop Hill for C.A. Lindholm, Former Resident Passes in Belvidere Friday.
Funeral services for Charles August Lindholm, 86, former resident of the Bishop Hill and Galva vicinities, who died Friday at his home near Belvidere, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Bishop Hill Methodist church in charge of Rev. C. W. Reynolds, paster of Galva First Congregational church. Body Bearers were Olof Elbloom, G.E. Allgren, Victor Tillman, August Naslund, Elmer V. Nordstrom and Albert Lindstrom. Interment was in Bishop Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Lindholm's death occurred at 10 o'clock Friday night, January 24 following an illness of six months.

Sketch of Life
Charles August Lindholm was born March 5, 1854, at Smed, Backen, Dalarna, Sweden, one of 12 children born to Sara and Pehr Johan Lindholm. In that place he received his education and military training and later was employed in the roller mills.

In 1875 he was united in marriage with Miss Gustava Johnson in Sweden and in the fall of 1878 he and his wife and two sons, Elmer and Charles Justice came to America, locating in Bishop Hill. In this country Mr. Lindholm became interested in farming.
In 1887 the family moved to Litchfield Nebraska, where his wife passed away in the fall of that year. Of the eight children born to couple, two daughters died in infancy, one son Elmer passed away in Chicago in 1902 and a daughter Ellen (Mrs. Alfred Ericson died near Galva in December 1923.

11 Children Survive
On September 15, 1891, Mr. Lindholm was united in marriage with Miss Amelia Anderson, of Minden, Nebraska, and to this union eight children were born, all of whom survive, with the exception of one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Maddrell, who passed away in Galesburg in 1934.

From Minden the family moved to Herrick, South Dakota for 1896 and since then the family lived in Alberta Canada; Dalla and Winner, South Dakota; Galva; Lacrosse, Indiana are evidence, where Mr. Lindholm's remaining days were spent.

He was a member of the Lutheran church of Dallas, South Dakota. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 11 children, six sons Charles Justice of Bishop Hill; Edward, Fred and Carl Victor of Galva; Roy of Garden Prairie, Illinois, and William of Clearfield, South Dakota; five daughters: Mrs. Josephine Smith of Elkhart; Mrs. Ester Beck of Hoquiam, Washington; Mrs. Anna Ericson of Galva; Mrs. Hannah Whittaker and Mrs. Ella Hartman, of Belvidere. There also are 26 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, in addition to one brother, Gustaf, in Sweden and among the nieces and nephews are Axel Lindholm and Mrs. Mary Johnson of near Bishop Hill.

Two of Mr. Lindholm's sisters in Sweden were twins and at an early age they were accidentally drowned. Twin daughters also were born into his family while they were living in Nebraska and the mother passed away at their birth, following which the daughters were adopted into separate homes. One of the twins died a few days later, while the other Mrs. Josephine Smith, of Elkhart is lving and attended the funeral of her father of her father Tuesday.
