Fred Lindholm, Galva Carpenter for years, dies suddenly while at work
Fred M. Lindholm, 68, well known Galva carpenter and contractor, died about 5 o'clock Friday afternoon on the Bert Cole Farm in Weller township west of Galva where he had been doing carpenter work. Altho he had been in ill health during the past three years his death was sudden.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the 'gill Funeral home here, in charge of Rev. Charles Goodwin, pastor of Bishop Hill Community Methodist church. Interment was in Galva Cemetery. Bearers were Joe J. Lord, Harold Powers, R.M. Everett, W.E. Leaf, Lloyd Hanson and George E. Knoll.

Was Born in 1882
Fred M. Lindholm , a son of Charles and Gustava Johnson Lindholm was born January 16, 1882 on a farm southwest of Bishop Hill. His mother died when Fred about six years old after which he made his home with a family in Minden, Nebraska, until he was about 21.

On December 5, 1906, Mr. Lindholm was united in marriage with Jessie Ellen Hanlon of Woodhull, in a ceremony solemnized at a farm west of Galva, owned by Mrs. Lindholm's father R.C. Hanlon. They resided on that farm several years.

A number of years ago Mr. Lindholm erected the bungalow at 401 Northwest Third Ave, where the couple resided unto moving to the residence at 113 Southwest Ninth ave. to assist in the care of Mrs. Lindholm's father who died in February 1948. Mr. Lindholm had worked as a carpenter and contractor in the Galva vicinity for many years. He was a member of Galva fire department 38 years and had served as president of the company, as well as holding other offices. He had taken a great interest in the work of department and attended the regular meeting last Tuesday night. About 20 firemen attended the funeral.

List Survivors
In addition to his wife, Mr. Lindholm is survived by the following brothers and one sister: Ed Lindholm and Justice Lindholm of Galva; and Mrs. Josie St. John of Tucson, AZ; and the following half brothers and half-sisters: Roy Lindholm and William Lindholm of Belvidere; Victor Lindholm of Clearfield, Esther Beck of Hoquiam, Washington; Mrs. Ernest Whitker and Mrs. Harold Hartman of Belvidere, and Mrs. Carl G. Erickson of Galva. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Lindholm was preceded in death by his parents; by one brother Elmer Lindholm, by one sister Mrs. Ellen Ericson of Bishop Hill and a half sister Mrs. Lillian Maddrell of Galesburg.

In addition to the relative listed above, the following relatives of Mrs. Lindholm attended the services Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Hanlon, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harlon, Mr. and Mrs. Lillie Seely, Mrs. Lyman Harris and Walter Mulvaney of Peoria; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hanlon and sons, Tom and Frederick of Woodhull; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Bloom of Cambridge, and Mrs. A. J. Anderson of Kewanee.

Also attending the services from out of town were Miss Anna Swanson, Leonard Swanson and Charles Anderson of Minden, Nebraska, in whose home Mr. Lindholm had resided for many years. Many friends in Galva and surrounding vicinity attended services.
