Bernard Wagner, 109 Neosho St., died early this afternoon in his home after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Wagner, who was 88 years old, had been working in his garden before he was stricken. Dr. C. H. Munger, County Coroner, was called and confirmed the cause of death. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Bernard (Barney) Wagner, 109 Neosho St., who died Tuesday afternoon in his home, will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Neil Heidrick, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

The son of the Rev. John F. and Marguerite Smart Wagner. Bernard Wagner was born Nov. 20th, 1875, in Galesburg, Illinois. He moved to Emporia in 1921 and he was married to Sally Ann Smith Feb. 28th, 1923, in Emporia. He was a member of the Grace Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, A. B. Wagner, and two sisters, Mrs. J. F. Crisp and Mrs. J. R. Munsell, and he is survived by his wife, of the home; two step-sons, Hurly B. Smith, Hickman Mills, Mo., and Ralph M. Smith, Camarillo, Calif., three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
