Mr. Campbell was the first person to own an automobile and to run a taxi service in Winn Parish. He moved to Winnfield around 1915. He operated a livery stable until after the turn of the century and was a deputy sheriff in Winn Parish for several years.

He was survived by a son, William Marshall Campbell of Dallas, TX; a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Breedlove of Winnfield; two brothers, Jim Campbell of Epps and Adam Campbell of West Monroe.
