Services for Kathryn June Sparks, 82, will be Tuesday, September 10, at 2 p.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with the Reverend Don Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.


A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Monday evening at the funeral home from 7 till 8 p.m.


The daughter of the late George and Ethelyn Esther Lancaster Sparks, Kathryn was born June 24, 1931, in Dillard and passed away September 6, 2013, in a local nursing facility.


Reared in the Dillard area, Kathryn graduated from Wilson High School Class of 1949 and worked for Montgomery Wards for 44 years retiring as the cash office manager. She attended both Mary Niblack Baptist Church, as well as the Cowboy Church. She had also been part of the ladies league at the bowling alley.


Kathryn is survived by her brother, Gerald Sparks of Temple, Texas; her sister, Elsie Cude of Lewisville, Texas; niece, Patricia Woods and her husband, Max of Ardmore, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and George Jr.; and her sister, Doris Hale.
