Gerald Dewitt Sparks, 90, of Temple died Monday in a Temple care center. No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Sparks was born November 13, 1924 in Dillard, Oklahoma to George Sparks and Evelyn Lancaster Sparks. He graduated from High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Mary Jo Swanson October 18, 1947. He worked for Commercial Printing and Letter Service, which later became Newman Graphics in Dallas. He was a Presbyterian.

He lived in Dallas before moving to Temple five years ago.

Survivors include his wife Mary Jo Sparks of Temple; one son Stephen Sparks of San Antonio; one daughter Nancy Flanigan of Temple; two grandchildren Trey Sparks and Kelly Lewis and one great grandchild David Lewis.

Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
