Visitation will be from noon to 2:30 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Shrine of Rest Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.
Services will be at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave., with the Rev. Gerald Trigg officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver.
Mr. Sparks was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Dillard, Okla., to George and Ethelyn (Lancaster) Sparks.
He had lived in Denver before moving to Colorado Springs 10 years ago.
Mr. Sparks attended Oklahoma University in Norman, Okla., and Tishimingo Junior College.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945 when he received a disability retirement. He earned the Air Medal with oak leaf cluster, European Theatre Ribbon, American Defense Ribbon and Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Senior League Bowlers.
Mr. Sparks was married April 22, 1945, in Dickinson, Texas, to Hortense Bacon, who survives.
Other survivors include a son, George III of Colorado Springs; two brothers, Harold and Gerald, both of Dallas; two sisters, Elsie Cude of Dallas and Kathryn Sparks of Ardmore, Okla.; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
