The Chico Enterprise-Record, Chico, CA, Thursday, Jun 16, 1955, pg 2: "Mary Ella Kenyon Dies in Oroville Following Stroke --- Mrs. Mary Ella Kenyon, who had resided in Chico her entire life, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Oroville Wednesday evening. Although Mrs. Kenyon had been in failing health for a number of years, she succumbed as a result of a stroke suffered only five hours earlier.
"Mrs. Kenyon was born on January 2, 1891, in Chico, and had attended the local schools.
"Her survivors include the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. A.E. Boyd and Roy Kenyon, of Chico, Andrew Kenyon of Red Bluff, Clyde Kenyon, of Daly City, and Mrs. Susie Browns of Missola [sic], Montana.
"Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, following which interment will be in the Chico Cemetery."
