Miss Jimmie Nell was born November 25, 1924 in Heard County to the late Thomas Owen Hardy and Ida Ophelia Gray Hardy. She was a Methodist by faith.
During her working years she served in the lunchroom of Heard Elementary School. Her smiling face greeted each student when they were served lunch each day. She applied her cooking skills at home, where she especially enjoyed baking. Two of her favorites were yeast rolls and chocolate cake.
She was a resident of the Franklin Housing Authority for over 50 years.
Her favorite times were spent with family. She was especially fond of family reunions. When she turned 90 years old, her nieces and nephews surprised her by turning that year's reunion into her birthday party.
Survivors include a special niece, Sybil Pike; a special nephew, James Fuller (Patsy); and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mort Bell; four sisters, Bessie Hardy, Winnie Fuller, Eunice McClain, and Ina Smith; and five brothers, Ombrey Hardy, Henry Hardy, Earnest Hardy, Joe Hardy, and Owen Hardy.
