Benton Franks, 65, of 18505 1st Ave, Barstow, died Saturday at Pathway Hospice, United Medical Center, Moline.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairman Funeral Home, Green Rock. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, SIlvis.

Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice.

Mr. Franks was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Houston, Miss. He married Beulah Sides Dec. 30, 1943, in Lepanto, Ark.; she died in 1983.

He as an industrial truck operator for 28 years at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of 40 & 8 at Lake LaChateau, Annawan, and United Auto workers Local 865.

Survivors include daughters, Darlene Mills, Annawan, Judy DeSchepper, Milan, and Melanie Alexander, East Moline; sons James Franks, Sherrard, and Mitchell Franks, East Moline; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Criddle and Lou Nez Cockrell, both of Lepanto, and Joy Jean Thornton, Proctor, Ark.
