Edith Hanson, 77, of Austin, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at Austin Medical Center.
She was born April 18, 1924, in Dodge County to Henry and Catherine (Wittrock) Janning.
She married Archie L. Hanson, Jr. in Austin.
She was a retired employee of Hormel Foods.
She was an avid golfer and member of Ramsey Golf Club Ladies Club. She enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling and dancing.
Survivors include her husband, Archie L. Hanson; son and daughter-in-law, Edward Hanson and his wife, Joan, Onalaska, Wis.; a daughter, Cynthia Hanson, Hudson, Wis.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd Janning, Austin; Herbert Janning and his wife, Nona, Austin; Elmer Janning and his wife, Eileen, Blooming Prairie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marietta Braun and her husband, Dan, Adams; Valeria Rauen, Stacyville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence, Harold and Edwin; sisters, Viola Tabor, Bernice Nelson and Mildred Tracy.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Paul Nelson officiating. Casket bearers will be Jeff Hanson, Craig Hanson, Mike Anselmo, Tony Anselmo, Harry Hanson and Doug Saaranen.
Visitation: 4 p.m. CCW rosary and a 6:30 p.m. wake service on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2001.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery
