The funeral of Ernst Auler, who was killed at McHenry, IL, in a railway accident at six o'clock Monday morning while acting as fireman, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, from the home of Mrs. Martha Auler, 130 Rosalie street. Rev. Theodore Irion of the Evangelical Lutheran church on North Park avenue will officiate and interment will be at Riverside cemetery.
While details have not yet been received in this city regarding the exact manner of Mr. Auler's death, it is known that the engine of which the Oshkosh man was firing, left the track, tipped over, and almost instantly killed him. The engineer was not killed but he is dangerously hurt.
Mr. Auler had for the better part of seven years been in the employ of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Company, and was almost thirty-one years old, having been born on July 25, 1877.
Besides the mother, two sisters and four brothers survive. The sisters are Mrs. Alma Thobaben and Mrs. Emma Schmidt. The brothers are Charles, Walter, Peter, and Harold Auler, all of this city. The remains will arrive in Oshkosh over the Chicago & Northwestern road at 7:28 o'clock this evening. The pallbearers at the funeral will be Emil Sueslow, Emil Kleckhafer, George Webber, Hugo Rahr, Arthur Solomon and Edward Schaffer
