Michael was born at Burnham City Hospital, Champaign, IL at 1:24 p.m. weighing 7 lbs, 2 oz. He was baptized on April 13, 1956 in the Latter Day Saints (Mormon) church, Grand Junction, CO. His father was named "Jesse Junior Peterson" (Jesse Jr. at birth?) but sometime before Michael and his older sister Dianne were born, had changed his name to "Robert Ryan". Michael apparently never used the Peterson surname during his life.

Buried August 6, 1990. It is unknown at this time if Michael's grave is marked or not. And it is possible that, at some point, Michael's remains were exhumed so that his grave could be "reused". This is common practice throughout most of Europe.
