Obituary - Lillian May Gabbott Smith, age 88, passed away June 27, 1996 at her home.

Born May 4, 1908 in Salt Lake to John Twiggs and Lillian Beatrice Hooper Gabbott. Married Alonzo C. Smith on October 5, 1932 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death February 22, 1969.

Member LDS Church where she held many positions and loved searching genealogy. Member Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Dedicated to her family, she was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and crossword puzzles.

Survived by son, Clarence G. Smith and wife, Loraine; daughters, L. Esther Smith; Vivian M. Wood and husband, V. Dean; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Rosina Owen, Viola Cox, Arline Bendixson; one brother, Edward Gabbott. Preceded in death by two daughters, four brothers, four sisters, and a grandson.

Funeral services Saturday, July 6, 1996, 11 a.m., Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 10-10:50 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
