Our loving, caring and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, and sister, Viola, passed away Tuesday morning, March 25, 2008 of Causes Incident to Age at her home in West Valley City, Utah.

Viola was born on January 2, 1923 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was the daughter of John Twiggs and Lillian Beatrice Gabbott. She dedicated her entire life to the benefit of her beloved family. She was the quintessential "Mom" always, there; always, concerned and loving; always caring and providing support to her entire family. She truly was the "gentle spirit" who never showed anger, only love, never spoke negatively; always positively and most importantly; always found the good and worth in other people. She dedicated her life to her loving husband and "soul-mate" Dan L. Cox to whom she bore eight wonderful children whom she raised to be the best they could be. She is now with her husband, together forever, happy and contented, that is all that she desired, and they loved each other more than life itself! What a wonderful, loving and caring wife and mother. She will be profoundly missed by all of her friends and most especially by her loving family.

She met her future husband while attending South High School in Salt Lake City, UT. Upon his return from distinguished service in the US Army during World War II, they chanced to meet again, through the efforts of Dan's best friend Cliff Gibson and they were soon married on June 18, 1946. Her family members surviving her are: daughters: Carol (Mike) Dunfield, Margie (Gary) Barron, Sharleen (John) DeOllos, Shelley (Bill) Snarr, Joan (Robert) Lantis, and Patricia (Jay) Schooler; and sons: Dan L Cox (Susan), and Darce T Cox; and 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by two sisters (Rose Owens and Arlene Bendixsen); four sisters and five brothers have preceded her in death.

Memorial Services are to be conducted from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sat., March 29, 2008, at the Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, Tylorsville, Utah. Viewings will be Fri. evening from 6-8 p.m. and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sat. morning.
Interment will be at the Redwood Memorial Estates.
