MARY E. RALSTON PICKEN, 89 BEAUTIFUL IN PERSON AS WELL IN SPIRIT ARGYLE - Mary E. Ralston Picken, 89, of Argyle passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, in Bickford House, Rockford. Born Jan. 24, 1921, in Argyle, the daughter of Matthew and Margrete (Brown) Harvey. Graduate of Harlem High School. Married Wilbur Ralston, who predeceased her, on April 10, 1980. Married Robert Picken on July 14, 1995. Lifetime member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church and Mariners at church. Enjoyed golf, playing in the Happy Hooker's Golf league. Avid Chicago Cubs and Bulls fan. She and Wilbur were the first couple married in the Willow Creek Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; son, Don (Janet) Ralston of Edmonds, Wash.; daughter, Carol (Tom) Ferguson of Rockford; grandsons, Matthew (Amanda) Ralston, Andrew Ralston and Scott Preston; son-in-law, Dave Preston of Normal; stepson, Steve (Penny) Picken; daughter, Annie; stepdaughter, Judy (Rob Watson) Picken; and several nephews. Predeceased by daughter, Susan Preston; and brother, Ray Harvey.
Memorial service at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, in Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Karen Stunkel officiating. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
