CALEDONIA - Wilbur B. Ralston, 65, of 13509 Beloit Road, Caledonia, died Thursday in Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, following a brief illness.
Ralston, a retired farmer, was agent, director, and vice president of Belvidere Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. at the time of his death.
Born Dec. 16, 1914 in Caledonia, he was the son of Edward and Mary Ellen Ralston. He married Mary Harvey May 16, 1942 in Argyle.
A life-time resident of Caledonia, he was a member and former trustee and elder of the Willow Creek Presbyterian Church and also belonged to the Mariners organization of the church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 75 A.F. and A.M. of Roscoe, was Boone County Chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service, and was a member of the Highland Hospital board of directors.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; one son, Donald H. of Lynwood, Wash.; two daughters, Carol Ferguson of Rockford and Susan Ralston of Bloomington and one grandchild.
He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, George and Edward Ralston; and one sister Margaret Ralston.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Witbeck-Wheeler-Sabien and Sparks Funeral Home with the Rev. Lester Reemstma, pastor of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Scottish Cemetery, Argyle.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for the church.
