Funeral services for Leonard C. Fuchtman, 70, were held Thursday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. The Reverend Mel Wiese officiated with burial in the parish cemetery with military honors by the VFW Post 1151 of Creighton.

He was born September 20, 1914 to Joseph and Clara (Schula) at Wisner and died Monday at his home.

He attended St. Ludger Academy at Creighton. From 1936-42, he worked for the Creighton Co-op as a buttermaker.

The WWII veteran served in the European, Normandy and northern France theater. After the war, he worked for the co-op until 1960 when he became a bartender at Ray's Tavern in Creighton, where he worked until his death.

He was a member of St. Ludger parish and VFW Post 1151 of Creighton.

Survivors include five brothers, Walter, Willard, Raymond and Joseph, all of Creighton and Edwin of Hartington; five sisters, Sister Francis Fuchtman, O.S.F. of Petersburg, Mrs. John (Edna) Burns and Mrs. Marvin (Florence) Hasenpflug, both of Creighton, Sister Kathleen Fuchtman, O.S.F. of Milwaukee, Wisc. and Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Focht of Lewsiton, Ida.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
