He was born in Knox County July 31, 1915. He married Glapha Johnson Ebers in Rock Island Oct. 21, 1950.
Surviving are his wife; one son, James E. Booton of Naperville; one daughter, Beverly Booton of Costa Mesa, Calif.; two brothers, Harold Booton of Galesburg and Vern Booton of Milan; and three grandchildren.
He was reared and educated in Knox County. He was employed by the J.I. Case Co. in Bettendorf, Iowa, for 22 years, retiring in 1979. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wheelan Funeral Home in Rock Island, the Rev. Thomas A. Lindeman officiating. Entombment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or his church, the family said.
