Harold A. Booton, 81, of 1520 W. Losey St. died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Born March 14, 1922, in Warren County to Charles and Callie Avery Booton, he married Edna M. Martinson on Jan. 11, 1945, in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Alan (and Judy) of Riverside and David (and Betsey) of Peoria; three daughters, Donna Booton of Peoria, Carol (and Robert) Neal of Galesburg and Cheryl Bosenberg of Rawlins, Wyo.; and one brother, Roy (and Eileen) of Milan.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

A World War II veteran, he served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945 in the Pacific Theater.

He worked for W.A. Jordan Co., Burlington Truck Lines and later for Maytag Transportation, retiring in 1985. He was a volunteer for the Red Cross.

He was a member and former deacon of First Presbyterian Church.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be accorded by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.
