Blanche Alstad, 95, of Fergus Falls died November 8, 2006 at the Pioneer Retirement Community.
She was born April 1, 1911 on the family farm near Melby, MN to Oscar and Mathilda "Tillie" (Lindberg) Anderson. She attended Kron Country School near Evansville and was confirmed in the Mission church at Evansville. She then lived and worked on the family farm.
On October 20, 1937 she married Oscar Alstad in Evansville. They lived in the Melby area for a short time until moving to Fergus Falls in 1938 where she was a homemaker in the home and raised her family. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran church in Fergus Falls and enjoyed singing with her family around the piano, dancing with her special friend, Earl Hendrickson, flowers and gardening and their lake home on Swan Lake. She is survived by a daughter, Julie Ann (Rollin) Botts of Bloomington, MN; three grandchildren, Candice Mueller, Darin Botts and Craig Botts; four great grandchildren, Nick Mueller, Sheri Mueller, Chloe Botts and Noah Botts; five step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar on July 16, 1982; son, Harlan; brother, Harvey Anderson; two sisters, Olga Anderson and Pearl Angel; two step-daughters, Doris Moreaux and Irene Mortenson and four step-grandchildren.
