Alma Gackle waas born on December 4, 1924 at the family ranch at Brockway, the daughter of Gottfried and Christina Kalmbach Gackle. She attended school at the Gackle school in the Brockway community.
She attended church in her early years at Zion Congregational country church, which at that time was in the Watkins community. In 1944, she was confirmed in that faith.
She continued to live with her parents, at the farm until 1960, when her parents retired to live at Terry. During her years in Terry, she regularly attended church and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She moved to the Friendship Villa in 1977.
Miss Gackle, age 70, passed away February 8, 1995 at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Oscar; and one sister, Palma. Survivors include two brothers, Alvin of Terry and Howard of Brockway; two sisters, Cynthia of Miles City, and Elnora Habel of Auburn WA; 10 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
