Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Tanksley, IV, age 64 of Hawthorne, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 in Shands at the University of Florida. He was born June 30, 1947 in Gainesville, Florida to Thomas Jefferson Tanksley, II and Dorothy Lynn Warne Tanksley.

Tom graduated from Gainesville High School (GHS) in 1965. During all three years at GHS, he was a member of the FFA.

Jeff served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee (CE3) and served in Vietnam. Later he was employed as an electrician and was a member of IBEW, Local 1205 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Jeff enjoyed fishing and bowling.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Audrey Holder Tanksley and 3 brothers, John, Richard and Sydney "Mac".

Arrangements are under the care of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue.
