Funeral of Maj. Henry M. Burleigh at Avon Very Largely Attended.
Athol, March 6, 1894. Over 1000 persons attended the funeral services over the remains of Maj. Henry M. Burleigh this afternoon.
They were held in the Academy of Music in order to accommodate all who wished to be present.
Delegations were present from the Worcester County Bar Association, state G. A. R. and W. R. C., and other associations.
The local Grand Army post and Relief Corps were present in a body.
The remains were clothed in G. A. R. uniform.
The floral offerings were very profuse....
Never before was a man borne to his grave in this section amid such signs of universal grief.
