Mrs. Harriet Barnes, wife of Earl Barnes, died yesterday morning at 6 o'clock. She was stricken with paralysis several weeks ago and sank gradually until death ended all. Mrs. Barnes was born April 30th, 1807, and was the daughter of George Eick, who held the office of court crier from 1820 until his death a few years ago. She is the mother of Albert Barnes, the present court crier, and Stewart L. Barns. There are four other children still living, the oldest, Gilbert Barnes, residing in Texas. Mrs. Barnes had passed nearly all of her long life in this city, and was widely known and respected. Since 1853 she had lived on Washington street, near Union, and the funeral will be held in that house on Friday morning next at 11 o'clock. The burial will be in the City cemetery.
