Rev. Clifford Caleb "C.C." Thompson, Ph.D, 91, of Pineville, Missouri, entered into Glory on Tuesday morning, August 6, 2013 after a recent battle with cancer.

Cliff began his earthly journey on July 21, 1922 in Sawyer, North Dakota to the late Henry George and Gertrude Belle (Lyght) Thompson. On May 16, 1942 he was united in marriage to Violet Irene Fisher and to this union two daughters were born. Cliff's life was centered around the preaching and teaching of the Good News of Jesus Christ. He attended Bible College in Seattle Washington for three years where he graduated with honors. He then attended the International Theological Seminary in Desoto, Missouri where he receive and Associates Degree in Bible subjects, a Bachelors Degree in Theology, a Masters Degree in Religious Education, eventually receiving his Doctorate in Theology. He also earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Bible Studies Ph.D and a Doctoral Therapist Degree. Cliff served as a pastor for 54 years and ran a Christian school for 19 years. He has written many articles and a book. He has served on boards and as Presbyter over several regions. He had two radio programs. Cliff also served on two University Boards of Christian Schools. He, along with the help of his faithful wife, Violet, built the Tri-City Worship Center in Pineville, Missouri, where they ministered for over thirty-eight years. Cliff is now rejoicing with his wonderful Redeemer, The Lord Jesus Christ. He has fought a good fight, he has finished his course, he has kept the faith and has been given a crown of righteousness. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Violet Irene Thompson on March 28, 2010; two brothers, Lloyd and Carl Thompson; and two sisters, Naomi Benningfield and Viola Flory.

Cliff is survived by his two daughters, Marlaine Jean Clay and husband, Larry J. and Faith Irene Armstrong and husband, Jim, all of Pineville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Darren (Debby) Clay, Jason (Krista) Clay, Todd (Gina) Clay, Cheri (Daniel) Cowin and Cindy (Joel)Sutherland; ten great grandchildren, Sierra Clay, Savannah Clay, Paton Clay, Joshua Clay, Bekah Clay, Levi Clay, Hannah Cowin, Matthew Cowin, Chloe Sutherland and Luke Sutherland; two step great grandchildren, Natasha O'Brien and Tessa Robertson; one great-great-great granddaughter, Aspen Marie; a sister, Evelyn Simonson of Yakama, Washington; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Rev. Thompson are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Tri-City Worship Center in Pineville, Missouri with Reverends Jim Armstrong, Kenneth Cowin, Darren Clay, Daniel Cowin, Randy Davis and Dawayne Lasitar officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineville Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Darren Clay, Jason Clay, Todd Clay, Larry Clay, Joel Sutherland and Daniel Cowin. Garland Walters, Truman Evans and Glen McGaugh will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Memorials are being directed to the Tri-City Worship Center and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
