Mrs. Alice Tanner Adkisson

EAST PRAIRIE - Mrs. Alice Tanner Adkisson, 75 years old, of East Prairie, dies Friday, June 28, 1985, at 7 a.m. in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 6, 1909, in Tennessee, daughter of Sam and Aurora Kendall Tanner.

Mrs. Adkisson had lived most of her life in Mississippi County where she was a member of the First Church of God in East Prairie.

On March 9, 1927, she married Rudolph Adkisson, who preceded her in death on May 9, 1968.

Surviving are six sons, Paul and Harold Adkisson and Kenny Keck, all of East Prairie, Jack Adkisson, West Memphis, Ark., Ralph Adkisson, Charleston, Bill Adkisson, Albuquerque, N.M., three daughters, Mrs. Sue Bennett and Mrs. Dean Edwards, both of East Prairie, and Mrs. Thelma Lieberman, Saugus, Calif., four sisters, Lavonia Denton, Troy, Tenn., Ola Stanfill and Mrs. Juanita Halter, both of Charleston, and Mrs. Edith Bailey, East Prairie; two brothers, T. H. Tanner, Houston, Texas; 19 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie until time of service which will be at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Presson of East Prairie and the Rev. Bill Adkisson of Albuquerque, N.W., assisting. Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
