She was born March 30, 1894 in Kirkville, the daughter of James M. and Sarah Comstock Abernathy. She was a member of the Kirkville United Methodist Church. On October 31, 1917, she married Austin Failyer in Ottumwa.
---She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Johnson of South Gate, California and Mrs. Rosemary Brown of Sigourney; one son, Gene Failyer of Kirkville; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
---She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, five brothers and five sisters.
---Funeral arrangements are pending at the Fremont Funeral Chapel.
