Dorothy DeLand, 79, of Gladwin and formerly of Harrison, died Thursday, Jan. 3, in the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born on Jan. 10, 1905, in Marengo, Ill., she came to the area from Jackson in 1959. She was a member of the Visually Impaired Persons Club. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Rites were held Saturday, at 1 p.m. from the Coker-Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. The Rev. Carter Miller officiated and interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Fund or the Blind Association.
