Obituary: Mrs. Katherine Koch Laid to Rest at Paul
Paul- Services for Mrs. Katherine Koch of Paul were held Sunday at Goodman Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. and and at 2 p.m. at the Congregational church in Paul. Mrs. Koch, a diabetic for many years died of compications aggavated by diabetes, March 10. She was 72.
Mrs. Koch was born October 13, 1881, in Frank, Russia, a daughter of Casper and Anna Marie Knopp.
January 4, 1901, she was married to Joh Peter Koch, who preceded her in death. In 1902 the young couple emigrated to America, arriving in Tocoma, Washing in March. Later they moved to Sugar City, Idaho, living until 1922 when they settled on the project near Paul They retired in 1936.
Mr. and Mrs. Koch had 13 children, all of whom survive except one son who died in infancy. They are Adolph, Alexander, Ruebe, Reinhold, Daniel and Fred Koch, all of the Paul vicinity. Carl of Kuna; Paul of Homedale; Mrs. John (Pauline) Niewert and Mrs. Dave (Rachel) Schaefer, both of Paul; Mrs. Matt (Emma) Kulm, Cheney, Washington; Mrs. Albert (Sarah) Laib, Dayton, Washington; 46 grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
Mrs. Koch was a member of the Congregational Church. As a baby she received Holy Baptism and the rite of confirmation when in her teens.
The Rev. K. K. Maier and the Rev. Reinhold Opp officiated at the services.
Grandchildren of the deceased acted as flower girls, and the sons were pall bearers.
A quartet composed of Mrs. Gene Snapp, Mrs. Richard Schenk, Mrs. Floyd Haynes and Mrs. August Martsch sang "Sunshine Tomorrow," "O Andchitszeit," and "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," Mrs. Reinhold Opp was the accompanist.
Interment was at Paul cemetery.
