Sarah Laib, Route 2, Willow Creek, died Wednesday morning at Dayton General Hospital at the age of 58.
The funeral will be held at 1:30pm Monday at the Dayton Congregational Church with the Rev. Amel Whitwer officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Dayton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Laib was born Oct 24, 1918 in Paul, Idaho, the daughter of John and Katherine Koch. She was educated in Paul and was married in Warden, Wash, April 26, 1936, to Albert Laib.
The couple farmed a number of years in the Warden area, three years in Lind, and five years in Odessa. In 1943 they purchased a farm on Willow Creek north of Dayton, where they have since made their home.
Mrs. Laib was a member of Dayton Congregational Church. Farm Bureau Harmony Club, Dayton Garden Club and the Columbia County Cowbelles.
She is survived by her widower, Albert Laib, at the home; her sons, Dennis Laib, Lorne Laib and Alan Laib, all of Dayton, and her daughter Carol Maynard, Chico Calif; her sisters Emma Kulm, Spokane; Pauline Niewert, Rupert, Idaho; her brothers Adolph Koch, Sander Koch and Reuben Koch, all of Paul; Fred Koch, Richfield, Utah; Paul Koch, Wilder, Idaho; and Daniel Koch, Spokane. Ten grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death in 1942 by a daughter, Noreen Laib; by a grandchild and two brothers, Carl Koch and Rhineholt Koch.

Albert Laib and Sarah Koch were married in Warden on April 26, 1936. They farmed in the Lind area three years, five years in Odessa, and in the Dayton area since 1944. They were the parents of five children. She is survived by her husband, Albert, three sons, Dennis, Loren and Alan, all of Dayton; one daughter, Carol Maynard of Chico, CA; 10 grandchildren; 6 brothers; 3 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
